The movie is based on the video game, but due to the original’s lack of plot details, CSP decided to expand upon the plot by adding a whole new back story involving an angry drug lord named Atlas Sanchez who hired ninja to kidnap President Reagan due to the Iran-Contra Scandal, which put a hamper on his drug smuggling. Other changes include giving the Bad Dudes more realistic names – Mike Sutherland and Leonard Washington – as well as changing the Secret Service agent from the beginning of the game to a CIA agent and giving him a more expansive role.
